In case the whole world doesn’t know by now, one of our local doctors had his 15 minutes of fame this last weekend. He managed to drive his car into a river and had to be rescued by being pulled in with a rope. It was on national news and everything. The wierd thing is, I know him. He works in the opthalmology group that shares our office. Everyone’s been chuckling it up, of course only after we knew he was safe and unhurt. A lot of the comments have been going something like this-

Coworker: “Gosh, doctor! That was some rescue. How are you doing?”

Doctor: “Fine, I’m okay.”

Coworker: “…. nice legs. Wish I could have seen the part they blurred out!”

Is that S. harrasment or what? Sometimes I wonder about the people I work with…

Yesterday I did ABSOLUTELY NOTHING. Well, nothing all that important. But I spent the whole day having fun and not doing things that I really had to do. Just stuff I wanted to do. I had lots of fun going to Woodstocks with a big group of friends for lunch and then I went with the girls over to Fanny Wrappers. All I can say about that is, yikes. I’ve never bought lingerie before, so the whole process is rather intimidating. Do guys really like that stuff? Because I look at most of it and think it’s pretty ridiculous. The gal who helped me showed me this one getup (which shall remain undescribed, seeing as how I may purchase it for a certain wedding of mine…) that she said “drove the guys wild”. Hmmmmm…. I thought it looked… okay. Well. I don’t know. I’d certainly never choose it because I personally found it sexy. That drives guys wild? Well, I’ve only got one guy on my mind as far as that goes, so that’s all that matters to me.

Happy 2005 everybody! I don’t normally make New Year’s Resolutions, but I figure, hey, everyone else is doing it. Here are a few-

1. Practice my music (piano and voice) more consistently

2. Learn to play the organ

3. Not procrastinate so much on doing everyday stuff like laundry

4. Save more money, spend less

5. Read more books

6. Get my optician’s certification

and of course, the over-used and un-original…

7. Exercise more/eat healthier.

Yeah, I know. That last one’s old and tired. But I really do feel better when I eat healthy stuff. It’s good for you, ya know?

So that’s it. I dare you to keep your resolutions longer than me.

I wanted to wish everyone a happy New Year while it was still new and all. So there it is. I will have a more detailed entry before too terribly long. So yeah. Be safe last night.
